English is an international language spoken by millions of people. We got it from the UK where Queen Elizabeth II rules. Thanks to her, England has become what it is now with its customs, traditions and of course its English. And today we will reveal some interesting and fascinating facts of her life. Elizabeth II was born on April 21, 1926. She was named in honour of her mother, grandmother and great – grandmother-Elizabeth Alexandra Maria. She belongs to the Royal dynasty of Windsor. From early childhood the future Queen received an excellent education, the best teachers taught her. She was taught the basics of etiquette and horse riding, the latter later became her hobby. On the whole, she got a humanitarian education, namely law, religion, constitution, art. She was very drawn to the knowledge that was given to her easily. She learned French perfectly on her own. In 1945, she joined the women's self-defense units becoming the first woman of Royal origin to serve in the army. In 1947, Elizabeth married Philipp Mountbatten, an English officer who was a member of the Greek and Danish Royal families. In her marriage she had four children: Charles (her heir), Anna (Princess of Great Britain), Andrew and Edward. Elizabeth became queen in 1953 after her father's death, taking the oath of the Privy Council, and signing the oath of succession. Her Majesty's coronation was broadcast on television which greatly influenced the popularity of television. After receiving the title, she actively participated in the life of the country, as well as most other States belonging to the Commonwealth with Britain. Despite the positive attitude of the majority of her nationals, the Queen has been repeatedly criticized during her reign. In her lifetime, this strong woman has seen many famous personalities, namely Nikita Khrushchev, Marilyn Monroe, John F. Kennedy, Yuri Gagarin, the Beatles, Leonid Brezhnev, Ronald Reagan, Vladimir Putin, Barack Obama and many, many others. The Queen's interests include dog breeding (such as Labradors, Corgi, Spaniels), photography and travel. She has traveled many countries of the world within her reign. For example, being the Queen of Canada, she was a participant in the opening ceremony of the XXI Olympic games in Montreal. Elizabeth II is the head of a number of knights ' orders, and also has military ranks, numerous honorary titles, academic degrees in the UK and the Commonwealth countries. Among other things, the Queen is the oldest reigning monarch in the world, the head of state in the world who rules the longest period of time and the world's oldest head of state. This year marks 65 years as Elizabeth is on the throne. Interesting fact: In 2013, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, the latter was 12 minutes late for the meeting. When it was time for his departure, the Queen was late for exactly 12 minutes. No matter how difficult it is to lead a huge state, her Majesty's title is admired by many. We have lifted the veil of life in the palace and now we know what it is to be Queen.
